The Project Research Team Attends the County of San Diego Office of Emergency Management Open House
September 22, 2016
On September 22, 2016, the research team attended the San Diego County Office of Emergency Management open house. The open house gave the team and members of the community the opportunity to learn about the operations that occur during steady state and emergency operations center activations for natural and manmade hazards as they toured the newly renovated facility. These new renovations, which include updated digital video and audio systems as well as ergonomic sit-stand desks, will be beneficial to the operational functionality of the facility. Touring the facility and speaking with staff allowed the research team to further develop the knowledge they will need for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Infrastructure Management in Extreme Events (IMEE) funded project #1634641, Integrated Stage-based Evacuation with Social Perception Analysis and Dynamic Population Estimation. The County of San Diego Office of Emergency Management is a valuable partner as the Research Team seeks to work together to aid in disaster evacuation decision support.
